purpose:

A Learning Community to promote and disseminate resources and best practices related to trauma training.

Summary of Recent Activities:

We have provided trauma training (with a focus on relationships based approaches for students and their families) fleeing war) to the following:

  • Cork ETB Principals and Directors May 18th 2022(30 attendees) *This was delivered before the funding was awarded
  • Cork Migrant Centre (20 attendees) 22nd June 2022
  • St John's Further Education College Cork (60 attendees )1st September 2022
  • Cork College of Commerce (150 attendees)5th September 2022

The following schools and colleges were scheduled to receive the training before December 2022:

  • Clonakilty Further Education College (27th September 2022)
  • Scoil Aonghusa NA, Mallow (3rd October 2022)
  • Schull Community College (8th November) 2022
  • Carrigtwohill NS (10th November 2022)
  • Active and social Inclusion Cork ETB (14th November 2022)

In addition, we have been invited by European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities in Brussels on 12th and 13th September 2022 to give training to professionals who are working with children with disabilities in Ukraine. These children (due to the nature of their disability) cannot leave Ukraine.  We are scheduled to give the trauma training on the first day of the event.  On the second day we are facilitating the group discussion . We were asked to deliver this training in Brussels as a result of our presentation in the Migrant Centre in June.
