Staff Development Initiatives
The Teaching & Learning Unit is committed to supporting the continuous professional growth of its staff. Under the Technological Sector Advancement Fund (TSAF), the following development initiatives are available:
Leadership Development
The following key programmes support leadership growth at MTU:
- LEAD@MTU: A masterclass series focused on developing leadership skills and capabilities, intended to support existing leaders in their individual and collective pursuit of MTU objectives.
- Insights: An in-depth exploration of leadership strategies designed to enhance leadership effectiveness.
- Elevate Leadership Development Programme: MTU's bespoke leadership development programme, open to all colleagues. This programme emphasizes transformation, communication, planning, and change, enabling distributed leadership and collaboration to support the implementation of MTU Strategy and personal/team professional objectives.
Training & Development series
- Midday Momentum Training & Development Series. A collection of online seminars designed to engage staff with diverse topics relevant to professional and personal development, including areas such as career development, technical skills, student support, and workplace diversity. These sessions are recorded for future reference and include interactive Q&A sessions.
- Speak Strong: Communication Skills Courses. Interactive programmes aimed at helping staff overcome speaking challenges, refine communication skills, and enhance confidence in both online and in-person settings. Participants will engage in practical exercises and receive tailored feedback to improve their vocal strength and clarity.
