CROP@MTU – Responsible Study Campaign

CROP@MTU is about integrity and ownership: valuing your own voice, your own effort, and your own achievements. Using AI responsibly is part of that. By engaging with CROP, you’re building habits that will help you both at university and beyond. Discuss CROP in your classroom to develop awareness, understanding and values of using AI responsibly.

CROP (Create it, Own it, be Proud of it) is MTU’s campaign for Responsible Study. It’s about valuing your own ideas, using new tools like AI responsibly, and taking pride in your work. Through awareness campaigns and GenAI literacy training, CROP helps staff and students build the skills to study, teach, and research with integrity. CROP@MTU is led by the Registrar’s Office, with support from the Library as part of MTU’s commitment to Responsible Study.

MTU Library Toolkit

The MTU Library Assignment Toolkit includes a suite of modules that guides students through the assignment completion process and provides a grounding in academic integrity by using best practice guidance at every stage.

This tool will be of significant help to new students, but also a great refresher for those with some academic experience behind them.

AI Assessment Scale (AIAS) Canvas module & briefs

You can enrol on the canvas module which outlines the AI Assessment Scale (AIAS) framework, and the "example" assessment briefs using the Cork or Kerry Catalog listings.

Once you have enrolled on the module via the listing, it should appear for you in Canvas.

You can explore the AI Assessment Scale (AIAS), developed by Leon Furze, through the AI Assessment Scale website, which explains the framework and its application.

The Assessment Scale is a practical framework to guide the appropriate and ethical use of generative AI in assessment design, empowering educators to make purposeful, evidence-based decisions.
