This workshop was timed before the submission date for examination papers in Semester 1 and discussed:

• How to pitch exam questions at the right level and provide some examples for discussion

• The importance of a marking scheme and how to develop a marking scheme

• How to develop model answers for questions

• The role of the external examiner in the examination process

Helping learners become strategic learners and revise productively

“If you feed a person a fish you have fed them for a day but if you teach them how to fish you have fed them for a lifetime”

As students prepare for exams many will complain that they put the hours in with little return. Examinations measure the quality of revision more than the quantity. This workshop examined some of the proven effective study techniques which can be presented to students to help them study productively in preparation for the end of semester exams.

The EAP is a confidential employee support service designed to support employees resolve personal or work-related concerns, through telephone support, specialist information and telephone or face to face counselling. The EAP is provided by EAP Consultants/Carecall who are an independent company and is available to all CIT employees The briefing session provided further information on the type of support available and how the service can be used.
