The Teaching & Learning Unit is pleased to support MTU's ongoing strategic development. The Technological Sector Advancement Fund (TSAF) is a €50 million initiative launched by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science, Simon Harris TD, on 20 July 2023. Managed by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), TSAF aims to support quality, excellence, and capacity building across technological universities, aligning with the objectives of the Technological Universities Act 2018 and recommendations from the TURN report and OECD review.
The TSAF project will also support the creation of a staff development function that will offer opportunities to all staff in a coordinated manner. MTU has always been committed to staff development and continuous professional development (CPD) and now, because of the success of various initiatives, is well placed to further create opportunities for individual staff and teams to plan, manage and capture their CPD journeys. This work will align with a whole range of existing activity across the university and build upon the outputs of various recent projects related to this area.
At MTU, TSAF is supporting key initiatives aimed at enhancing staff experiences and professional development. These initiatives are organised under the following themes:
