Individuals or project teams can apply for funding ranging from €5,000 to €20,000 for a one-year learning enhancement project, commencing January 1, 2026, and concluding by December 31, 2026.
Criteria for Project Submissions
All project submissions must adhere to a set of criteria designed to ensure alignment with strategic goals and maximise impact. Submissions should clearly demonstrate a connection to MTU's overall strategy and consider opportunities for meaningful student-staff engagement. Projects must also have the approval of the relevant Head of Function and include a detailed, evidence-based budget plan. Furthermore, proposals should identify a clear point of impact to show how the project will make a tangible difference.
Most importantly, each project must focus on one of the three core themes outlined by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (NFETLHE):
- Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)
- Digital Transformation in the Tertiary Sector
- Best Practice in Upholding and Cultivating Academic Integrity
