Building on the successful SATLE 2020, 2022-23, 2023-24 RAFT (Reimagining Assessment & Feedback Together) 1 & 2 programmes, MTU will adopt a similar approach to enhance the feedback and assessment experience for both staff and students at MTU with a particular focus on the intersection of academic integrity and artificial intelligence in assessment design.
Programme teams, of up to 4 staff ideally representing each year of a specific programme, were invited to collaboratively enhance assessment practices, fostering a culture of academic integrity while exploring innovative solutions and emerging best practices, with a particular focus on the implications of artificial intelligence for assessment design.
Successful applicants will have their assigned teaching load reduced by 1 hour per week for Semester 1 2025/26 in the first instance (once approved by Head of Department/Function). The programme will consist of two phases. Phase 1 will commence in Semester 1 of 2025/26 and, following successful completion of Phase 1, participants will be invited to continue into Phase 2, commencing in Semester 2 of 2025/26. Participants are expected to participate in an online session (1 hour per week) and undertake their own preparation/reflection throughout the programme (1 hour per week).
E-book Launch Event
Reimagining Assessment and Feedback Together: A Collective Action Research Journey, September 2021–June 2025 E-Book was officially launched by Dr Sharon McGreevy on 6 March 2026. The launch brought together staff from across MTU who, for the last 5 years, have been taking part in collaborative work exploring assessment, feedback, academic integrity and the implications of artificial intelligence for assessment design.

RAFT Publications and Resources
Reimagining Assessment and Feedback Together: A Collective Action Research Journey, September 2021–June 2025 documents the work of the Reimagining Assessment and Feedback Together (RAFT) initiative at Munster Technological University between September 2021 and June 2025. Drawing on a collective action research approach, the publication brings together a range of discipline specific projects in which staff explored new approaches to assessment and feedback in partnership with students. The publication was developed by Dr Tom O’Mahony, who leads the RAFT initiative, and captures the collective insights and experiences of participating staff across MTU.
