Project Description

This project aims to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment across three programmes in the Department of Sport, Leisure and Childhood Studies, supporting the renewal of the DELTA award by June 2026. It will focus on staff development through CPD, induction and mentoring for new staff, and promoting a student-centred learning culture through feedback and co-created assessments. Emphasis will be placed on assessment design that considers Generative AI while maintaining academic integrity. The project involves MTU staff and students and includes collaboration with Mary Immaculate College to share best practices and drive sustained TLASE improvements.

What is the anticipated impact of this project?

This project is expected to enhance staff development and student engagement by using a needs analysis to inform targeted workshops and co-created teaching, learning, and assessment resources. By fostering collaboration among staff and students, the project aims to break down silos, promote a student-centred culture, and build sustainable practices beyond the funding period. It will benefit 19 academic staff, 450 students across three programmes, and industry partners, while also supporting the successful renewal of the DELTA Award in June 2026.

HOW Will the outputs of this project be DISSEMINATED?

The main output of this project will be the DELTA renewal application, showcasing professional development initiatives and co-created assessment resources that address Gen AI challenges. Outputs and learnings will also be disseminated through local and national workshops, seminars, and continued collaboration with MTU’s Teaching & Learning Unit.
