Purpose
The Strategic Development Goals (SDG) Learning Community aims to explore and integrate Global Citizenship Education (GCE) into course content across MTU. The community seeks to create cross-departmental connections, assess MTU’s engagement with GCE through the lens of the Sustainable Development Goals, and eventually develop initiatives that foster both staff and student engagement with global citizenship.
Summary
- Formation Stage: This academic year, the LC received funding but has not yet used it, as the group is in the early stages of development.
- Discussions: Initial conversations have focused on defining aims, identifying shared interests, and exploring how GCE can be integrated across different departments and programmes.
- Future Plans: The Learning Community aims to develop concrete initiatives in the next academic year, including cross-departmental projects that promote global citizenship among both staff and students.
