You can’t do it all overnight, but we advise the best approach to take is to try and plan one day/week at a time.
Try to get one day/week worth of course content ready, which may consist of any or all of the following:
- PDF’s of notes you had already prepared in Word, Excel or PowerPoint (PDF files are better for a variety of reasons, find out more here)
- Narrated PowerPoint slideshow
- Video Recording
- Audio Recording
- Readings – papers, eBooks, blog posts, etc., see
- Open Educational Resources (OERs) ,e.g.:
- Elements of Massive Open Online Courses such as:
- Coursera - Free access has been made available to all courses
- edX
- Stanford Online
- Udacity
- P2PU
- MIT Open Courseware
- Activities, such as:
When creating content please try to ensure that content created is accessible to all students, the following resources may prove useful:
- UCD Access & Lifelong Learning - Mini Masterclasses in Accessibility: A series of 4 short videos (5 minutes or Edit Linkless) on creating accessible Word documents, PowerPoint Presentations, Videos and websites
