Staff Induction Initiatives

The Teaching & Learning Unit is dedicated to ensuring that new staff members have a smooth transition into the university community. To support this goal, the Technological Sector Advancement Fund (TSAF) enables a range of initiatives designed to help new employees acclimate to their roles and the university environment.

These initiatives provide structured guidance, mentorship, and resources to foster a sense of belonging and confidence as new staff embark on their journey at MTU.

Integrate - Staff Induction Mentoring Programme

  • The Integrate programme provides informal and friendly mentoring support from experienced peers who volunteer to assist new academic staff members during their initial months in their roles. This mentoring complements the regular induction arrangements provided by home departments and the Human Resources Office, ensuring new staff can navigate their transition into the MTU community with confidence and support.

Staff Induction Workshops

  • Interactive sessions designed to familiarise new staff with MTU's systems, policies, and processes. These workshops aim to provide essential information and resources needed during the initial phase at MTU.
  • Starting Out Essentials: A sub-module focusing on the fundamental information required for new staff to successfully start their journey at MTU.
