All staff have access to space on a server where they can store their work files - this is known as the H drive.

You can access it by opening Windows Explorer, where it will appear as a new drive referred to as the ‘home’ or ‘H ’ drive.

Alternatively, you can access your work files remotely via the Staff Portal or Staff Gateway using Web VPN.

Some staff also have access to shared folders and this will appear as another drive in Windows Explorer. Staff work folders are backed up every night.

It is not recommended that work related files are stored on the local ‘c drive’ of your PC. In the event of a disk failure, if you haven’t a fully up to date backup, you will lose that your data. In the case of Laptops, backups should be done regularly in conjunction with the use of secure offline storage.
