Objective

To learn about the reality of ‘brilliant disruption’ and the mindset and skills needed by students entering organizations for work and the workplace of the future.

Key outcomes/findings

  • A half-day conference for CIT staff and invited regional stakeholders was held In CIT Bishopstown Campus on Thursday, 24th May 2018.
  • Speakers included:
    • Oliver Johnson, Business Consultant & Coach on “Succeeding in the New Normal, How Brilliant Disruption is changing the workplace”
    • Dr Andrew Curran, Neuropsychologist on “Understanding the Brain and Body Response to Change”
    • Dr Breda Kenny, Head Department for Management & Enterprise, CIT on “Entrepreneurial Skills & Employability”
    • Niamh McCarthy, Associate Director, Morgan McKinley on “Recruitment Trends & Labour Market Insights”
  • There were organisation case studies presented followed by a panel discussion which involved:
    • Mairead Cummins, Talent Acquisition Manager, Pfizer
    • Dr. John Carr, VP Supply Chain Solutions & Business Development, Flex Global Services
    • Eoin Butler, Supply Chain Director, Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland
    • Gareth Cullen, Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition
